The collections of the Czartoryski Museum in Krakow are among the most valuable collections of art masterpieces not only in Poland, but in all of Europe. The institution, which is a branch of the National Museum in Krakow, is one of the oldest museums in our country. No wonder, then, that each copy of a painting entrusted to us required special care to ensure that it would perfectly match the interiors of such a distinguished institution located in a 19th-century building. We created a total of five murals – a reproduction of Leonardo da Vinci’s painting ‘Lady with an Ermine’ (popularly known as ‘Lady with a Weasel’) and four copies of paintings by Jan Piotr Norblin, one of the most important painters of the time of King Stanisław August Poniatowski. All the paintings are colourless, made using the grisaille technique. It took three artists seven days to prepare the reproductions of the paintings on the wall.
